Join me for the fall harvest in Piemonte, in northwestern Italy. Renowned for some of Italy's best red wines, Barolo and Barbaresco, and the famous white truffle, the Piemonte region is a wine and food lover's paradise! We will immerse ourselves in tasting everything this wonderful hilly winegrowing region has to offer. If you have not been to this part of Italy yet you are in for a real treat!
The Piemonte region is known for its wild porcini and other mushrooms, as well as the famous white truffle from Alba. During our hands-on cooking classes we'll prepare traditional Piedmontese dishes including: Bagna Cauda, Agnolotti With Fontal, Fontina, Butter and Sage, Fresh Tajarin Pasta with Wild Mushrooms, Beef Braised in Barolo, and spectacular desserts using the region's famous chocolate and hazelnuts!
We'll stay at the luxurious La Villa Hotel, a beautiful 17th Century palazzo situated high atop a hill in the Monferrato countryside, just a short drive from Alba, the town known for its world-famous truffle fair. The rooms in the villa are incredibly appointed and each one has a comfortable sitting area where you can take in views of the surrounding vineyards and the Alps!
We'll go to Alba during the truffle fair and sample the local specialties and taste the regional wines. We'll learn how to harvest grapes in a real working vineyard, have private tours and tastings in Barbaresco and Barolo, we'll visit an artisan chocolate producer, eat "Slow Food", and so much more!
Group meeting point in central Torino for pick-up and drop-off is: Porta Nuova train station.
